Carte De Visite is the solo project of Ryan Birkner, a Belleville, Illinois native. Ryan writes and records all the music himself at home with the help of the other members of the live band, Austin Luberda, who plays guitar, bass, and keyboards, and Christian Mundloch, who rips it on the drums. Their songs are short and sweet and to the point, but that point is filled with gorgeous melodies and soft, haunting vocals. Their music holds a likeness to a more parlour jazz style version of Beach House, with a male vocalist.
